A family portrait of six members sitting on a sofa in a living room. Two adults, one woman and one man, are sitting in the middle, surrounded by four young boys. The woman is wearing glasses and a blue dress, and the man has long hair tied back, wearing a checkered shirt. The boys are dressed in collared shirts and cardigans, and one boy is being held by a woman on her lap. The background features a blue wall and a white door.

Philosophy of Care

I believe that conception, pregnancy, and birth is a normal physiological process and deeply spiritual journey. This process works best when interrupted as little as possible and when the informed decisions of the family and birthing mother are respected and upheld. Birth, although natural, is not without risk. A midwife’s job is to promote the health and well-being of the mother and baby by providing evidence-based care, minimizing interventions, and addressing any possible complications or risks as they occur. This is done through regular discussion and education about nutrition, exercise, symptoms experienced, and through hands-on clinical evaluation such as taking maternal vitals and palpation of the baby. The midwife and family will engage in shared-decision making to address any concerns.

With this in mind, I am committed to ethical midwifery care based on the Midwives Model of Care and guided by the inherent dignity of each person. All clients will be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion, and will receive individualized, trauma-informed care. Autonomy will always be upheld through education and shared decision-making, and nonmaleficence will guide the thoughtful use of interventions, which will be avoided unless truly necessary. Through beneficence, I strive to promote the well-being of both mother and child, supporting their physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Rooted in justice, I am dedicated to providing equitable and inclusive care to all families, honoring their unique circumstances and needs.

Meet your midwife.

Chloe lives in Sidney, OH with her husband and 4 children. She had her own babies at home, with the exception of the first who was a home to hospital transfer after a long labor. She loves to be with her family, travel and be outdoors, read novels, and get coffee with friends. She is passionate about holistic health including the power of fully nourishing the body, herbal medicine, and slow living. She is currently a student in the “primary under supervision” stage. This means that she is on the path of becoming a certified professional midwife (CPM) but is still a student at this time. She hopes to finish her clinical requirements to become a CPM by the end of 2026.

Current update on her clinical journey:

  • Attending Midwives College of Utah to obtain a bachelor’s of science in Midwifery and sit for the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) CPM exam. She currently has 101 of 121.5 credits and a 4.0 GPA.

  • Has attended about 75 births as an assistant/student

  • Updated NRP and CPR/BLS emergency trainings

  • Certified doula through Doulaversity

  • Planning to accept clients with 2027 due dates - more info coming!
